Take Action!

  1. Call Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith to thank him for his support of equal rights for farmworkers and to ask him to end the shameful exclusion of farmworkers from basic rights and protections by bringing the Farmworkers Fair Labor Practices Act to the floor of the Senate for a vote: (518) 455-2701.

  2. Schedule a visit with your State Senator at their District office. If you can't visit, then call your representatives to let them know how you feel about this issue. Go here to get your senator's contact information. Let us know how your visit or call goes.

  3. Set up a table after services and get members of your congregation to write a letter to their Senator and Assembly member urging them to support the Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Bill A1867/S 2247.

  4. Download a copy of the 90-second letter here.

  5. Have your congregation/organization sign a resolution in support of the Justice for Farmworkers Campaign

  6. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper. Get others to do the same. Feeling filled with words? Write an op-ed and send it to your local paper. Can't write? Help us find someone who can!

  7. Add farmworkers to your Prayers of the People.
